In 1949, the Georgia Financial Services Association was founded as the state's trade association for the consumer credit industry. For over sixty years, GFSA has promoted the responsible and ethical lending to responsible and informed borrowers. The Association strives to improve and protect consumers access to credit.
The primary goals of the Association are threefold:
Continued Study
Members of the Association dialogue regularly to stay abreast of changes in regulatory policy and the conditions pertaining to personal and family financing.
Conference with the Public
The Association is given frequent opportunities to interact with public officials and utilize that opportunity to advocate for greater consumer access to responsible credit.
Promoting Responsible Borrowers & Lenders
The Association supports financial education for consumers of all ages, as represented by the Foundation's long-standing partnership with the Georgia Council on Economic Education.
Members of the Association realize that their business conduct and operations have a direct bearing on the lives of Georgia's families and business owners and are proud of the services they offer families and businesses around the state. The Association encourages and maintains the highest ethical business practices.
